Robbe "Comtesse" model yacht
« on: June 16, 2016, 09:30:13 pm »

Does anyone know of a stockist for spare parts for this boat please. I need the part which connects the fore sail to the sheet which goes to the servo.
Any help or advice appreciated.
Many thanks and happy sailing.
Mike.

Hi chippy having spoken recently to the trader that was the main robbe  dealer for the uk.Robbe spares are hard to find but you could try Jotika and cornwall models.

Hi Chippy

If you can't find spares, put up a photo of the missing part, where it goes, etc., and someone will probably be able to suggest a suitable substitute.

Is it a slider that fits inside a profiled extruded tube?  Is it all missing or just broken?

It could be this maybe. (hoping that the photo appears)  From memory it's an M2 thread with a nut which is inside the extrusion; and a second locknut as in the photo.

Either, really.  I can't help think that a brass bolt, say M4 or 5 (bigger than the slot, anyway) with a slot filed each side to fit the extrusion, a line hole about 1.5mm in the head and a single nut to lock it would do the job if the real thing was not available.  I tend to like brass bolts - easy to work and somebody else has done the difficult bit.

Many thanks to all who replied.

Rob S the picture you put on is exactly the think I'm looking for. I rang Cornwall model boats who put me in touch with a chap who thinks he may have one but it's taking him ages to look.

I've substituted a 2 mm split pin, which doesn't look tidy but will do the job for now until I can make one.

The whole boat was "bodged" together by it's previous owner, so over the winter I'll try to do a refit. I'm thinking of planking the decks. Has anyone else tried to do this with any success?

Happy sailing.

I've planked mine; but didn't make a decent job of sealing it, as some of the edges have lifted slightly.
