My daughter Claire. She was not quite three when her mother took her to live in the USA and I've had no contact of any sort since then. She was 35 last month.

I think that all answers of  "FAMOUS"  people would pale into insignificance after that wonderful answer Inertia.

I do hope your wish comes true one day soon.

On that note I don't think I wish to post an answer. Take care.

Nobody famous, but given the chance I'd like to chat to my Father. He died when I was fifteen, so I missed the best of the Father/Son years.

He wasn't famous in any way, shape or form, but he was, and still is, the only man I've ever respected enough to call 'Sir'.

RIP, Dad..

I think Dave has trumped any answers really, but maybe I would like to talk to my younger self to give him the benefit of my experience so he could act on it in which case I might not be here but then....

I would like to meet my late father in law, he passed away 6 years before I met my future wife so I never knew him.

On a slightly different angle, 2 people I would like to see talking on the bench would be my daughter & my late grandfather (I was very close to my grand parents)

Mr. Plague,
Simple answer to your post. Have a look at the Dallas newspapers for the following day, main photograph is of said person (Oswald) being shot outside the police headquarters by Jack Ruby.
The source of my information is impecable, the officer who he was handcuffed to. Can't think of a better source than that!
He was then involved in the investigation that has run for years as to wether Oswald acted alone.
So I suppose tthe person you really need is a good medium for your conversation.
PS The officer involved is still alive and active, in fact I had a conversation with him last Tuesday, a good person and a gentleman.

Clive Cussler would be interesting person to talk to!!
Mainly on his research on finding shipwrecks, as per his books the Sea Hunters 1&2.

He is actually a very amiable man to chat too.

I was, some years ago engaged in correspondence with him about his books, his many classic cars and his model ships.

Did you know that he has a professional model builder make a model of each ship that he writes about in his fictional books, and those in his none fiction books, and he has, like his car collection amassed quite a number.

He sent me photos of his collection at the time, but sadly they were lost some years ago when I moved to the north from Norfolk.

We exchanged a number of letters, and he is a very knowledgeable man, regarding maritime matters.

I think you'd enjoy chatting with him.

Jim.

You are assuming Oswald was really the perpetrator. It seems to me that is not certain.
Nothing in the thread rules about the person being still alive. We'll need a few mediums (media?) I think.  :-)

I would like to talk to my Grand fathers. Grand Dad James died on Christmas morning 1973 only months after retiring (The Government got great value out of him with a short period of paying pension), And Grand Dad William, who died when I was eighteen months old and too young to know him.

But that is frippary and would be willing to wait for my time to ascend or pass through to the other life to meet them so that the seat can be left free for Dave's Daughter.

One of the old club members Bruce Webb.
In the 1980's brought a new JVC VHS-C video camera , cut open one of his model boats and without water protection in salt water,  video our model boats!!
The camera is about 11 x 6 x 5 ", cost about 1/4 the price of a new car!!!!
With all the new radios, brushless motors, GoPro camera's Bruce would have been in it boots and all!!!
I still miss him!!!
Some people make a mark in your life and you never forget!!!!!!

On a personal note, my Mother who I lost 22 years ago and my brother who I lost 13 years ago. On the bench with me, would be my son, who they never knew.

On an intellectual level it would be Einstein

On a dark level it would have to be Hitler

To lighten the mood, Ronnie Barker...........genius.

Having already said I'd nominate my Father to talk to, there is one other man I'd love to chat to again...the Great Man himself, the late (and much missed model submarine guru) Bernie Wood.

2) My great grandmother, came to East Lancashire from Liverpool, husband died age 43, eight children, some of whom were WW1 losses.
3) Vic Smeed, he gave so much to this hobby in years gone by.
