Nut sizes
«

Okay
So it would appear that the the nuts on a steam plant should almost certainly be of the BA size
, but if they're not, and these are definitely NOT
, can anyone point me in the direction of what they might be, before I buy anymore spanners
Thank you.

it would surprise me if they were BA sizes I'd have thought they were more likely to be BSP (British Standard Pipe)

Could be ME (model engineering) which is extra fine Whitworth thread form, or metric.

'Twas very rude of me, thanks very much to those who responded. Turns out the set of BA spanners bought were not BA spanners, although marked as such. Really quite confusing. Actually really, really confusing.

This can be confusing as it all depends on the size of the hexagon bar used to produce the nuts. With the metrication of bar stock, sizes altered slightly this is probably why you are having problems with spanners. The threads can still be B.A.
