new swab aboard
« on: July 17, 2016, 10:12:54 pm »

Hi and thanks for the speedy welcoming response to my application.
I'm Len, aka el hombre feliz. I'm a retired south yorkshireman with a decades long interest in rc models. Newly into sailboats, my previous (and continuing) interest has been electric fixed wing sports aerobatic aircraft. Come to think of it, that is probably why I also have an interest in electric fan boats.
I've recently joined Manvers waterfront boat club. A beautiful water the location of which was Europe's one-time largest coking plant. Have a visit and drool. Online page has live webcams, or in person .

cheers

thanks. I've much to discover by way of just about everything. Shows would be of great interest as I love to browse other modellers' work and find bargain items (who doesn't) :)

What publication or website lists details of such events?

thanks for the welcome Kipper. A small world it is. You'd never guess that the place was one an industrial eyesore unless you had known it during the last century.
So how old are you exactly ?  ;)

Len......if you go back to the post by Kipper, just click on his name above the avatar image & you will see some personal information & including his age

Being from the other side of the world, I didn't know the name .....Manvers Main ....but Google sure explained it

Coal mines throughout the world at the turn of the century were not for the feint hearted.... >>:-(
