Great cheap paint
« on: July 12, 2016, 06:20:47 pm »

Hi all I went to Hunstanton at the weekend at our friends caravan, whilst there I went into a cheap shop up there (can't remember the name of the shop but it's on the corner before the model shop) I bought a selection of paints, I tried some on some spare plastic and it seemed OK so I tried it on this kit, I'm amazed with the result, this paint is 1.50 a can, I've used no Polish and there is no undercoat (admittedly it's on white plastic so can't really say whether it's good coverage but this is only one coat) I think for 1.50 it's amazing (and there's very little smell.

It would be interesting to know whether or not this paint, once hardened off, will take varnish/lacquer with no bad effects. You could be onto a winner here Ken :-)

Regards,

Ray.

It definitly looks the business! The Black would be perfect for spraying alclad metallics onto (assuming it takes properly).

  Interesting company:

I used to sell their products in my hardware/DIY shop. Good quality - low prices.

Is that a model of a Studebaker?

EDIT:
On second looks no, there is no large circular hole in the front grille. Maybe an old Volvo? the one used by the Saint, a P150 was it?

Volvo P1800 is what you're thinking of
But the car in the pic is a VW Kharmann Ghia. One of my "one day" cars
