Well we are now in the paint shop stage the cabin area to say the least has been a total nightmare. The light ply roof took some sealing just a few pictures more to follow.

Just a few shots showing the dummy outboard motor. The outboard is from Macs  Mouldings and the prop from  Protean Design. Prop size is 8mm with 2mm thread please note these are actual working props. :-)) :-)) :-))

I have seen a small fishtrawler in Brittany that had an outboard engine with the screw covered by mesh! Its was powered by the boats hydraulic system. I think they use when they have to shut down the main engine so it will not entagle the net.

HI all just a few pictures . Bulkhead which will form part of the wheel house masked and painted.  Part of the deck is now painted. I have bit the bullet after having poor results with the light ply and skinned the roof with 1 mm plastic card  also the door area.

Painting stopped at the minute  due to work on wheel house roof.  While working in the garage this afternoon  I took this shot. The completed model was built 27 years ago and still  going strong. In front the new fishing boat still along way to go  before being completed. The new fishing boat will be the last one I build lets  hope  its still going strong in 27 years.

I am pleased to say the wheelhouse work is almost complete just some minor work to be done then back in the paint shop. I have enclosed some pictures  showing the front deck and rear deck painted in humbrol 87 steel blue. Finally some general shots enjoy.

Just a few pictures  showing the masking needed to paint inside the bulwarks. This was a time consuming job but by lunch time first and second coat of paint was applied. Out for the afternoon back early evening mixed some more paint but added more thinners than needed what a mess. After 10 minutes in a dark room problems sorted lesson learnt no talking while mixing paints.

Hi everyone masking again today. This time to allow the main hull colour to be applied. I have mixed humbrol  light green and grass green to obtain the final colour slightly darker than light green. Next area to be painted will be a white boot topping then the timbers rails above the deck.

Hi Stan,
Are you using an airbrush for the painting?

Hi Dave a Badger single action  not sure of the model number. But should this give up then it would have to be a Hiwata trigger action gun. These airbrushes are very popular with plastic modellers.
