Greetings from Queensland Australia
« on: August 09, 2016, 10:09:02 am »

Good evening gentlemen, a very warm hello from sunny Queensland

A bit about me, old git, ex RAF radar engineer, lifelong sailor and guitar nut. Also very interested in model steam engines.

I started out with model boats 3-4 years ago when I bought the Bowman Snipe that is in my avatar, was a bit rough so I did a complete rebuild. Currently I have a 1 metre boat also in the middle of a resto.

I can post pics in the appropriate place if you guys are interested.

My next project is going to be a kit build boat, a North Light - Clyde Puffer I hope it's not too difficult as a first build [I'm more of a restorer than builder] . So expect a lot of questions, some probably pretty basic, but I don't believe there is such a thing as a stupid question......

Hi .......Geoff, welcome.  I like to restore old stuff as well.  I was wondering about your dodgy past as a radar engineer, air or ground?  I was air on Canberras way back when.
cheers, Roy

Thanks for the greetings guys

Roy, I was an apprentice at Locking [100th entry] Ground Radar C+R. Moved into computer controlled systems then took a career change and ran the engineering/factory maintenance side of a large printing firm in East Anglia.

Peter, nice place just south of Bargara, I know it well a mate of mine runs a guitar business up there. I'm a bit south at Mt Coolum on the Sunshine Coast

Geoff, we had a few days at Mudjimba before coming to Elliott Heads. I have a sister in Bundaberg, and have been visiting the area since 1975.

And don't forget the Sunshine Coast Model boat Club
http://www.scmbc.org.au/
Scale, Fast electrics and Yachts among other things. Nice setting, but check map first to get directions from the University entrance.   Too easy to get lost.
