Welcome Richard,

At the risk of boring everyone else to death with my plugs, why not come along to Balne Moor on Sunday when you can see lots of tugs in action at our Roses Regatta.

Details on the website, just follow the link below.

Cheers everyone.  I wanted a project to test me, I'm not in a rush to finish it , although I always  seem to be messing with it. Never scratch built a boat but a few planes in my youth. I've only just started last  week  so I'm sure lots of problems in the pipeline . I'm planning on having a look around over the next few weeks to see what is around. Thanks

Do not know about your side of the Pennines but we have two great shows at the other end of the m62
Haydock Park Model Boat Convention. 27th - 28th August.

http://www.modelboatconvention.co.uk/
Blackpool Model boat show Norbreck Castle hotel 22nd - 23rd October http://www.blackpoolmodelboatshow.co.uk/

Both have lots of traders and clubs displaying.

Cheers for that. Might call to Balne Moor next weekend depending on work. After looking at all the bow thrusters on the market, which I think are a bit pricey, not  many seem to get good reviews, so I've decided to design and build some myself, which are now virtually finished.

If you want to come and have a look around Balne moor you would always be welcome.

However, on days other than event days it would be best to PM me first.  Like all Clubs we do not always have a lot of action on ordinary weekends and our pond is not generally open to the public as it is part of a bigger complex.

I am happy to show you round if you wish or you can come to our next event on 18th September.

As to bow thrusters, a lot of our tugs have home made devices which are very effective and are based on a design which has been the subject of other threads on this forum.
