Hi All,  I'm a new member (as of a few days ago).  After Christmas this year I got back to working on my model steam tug and haven't stopped yet.  It's been sitting in a half-built condition for over ten years.  I have checked this forum on various occasions over the years for general interest (flash steamers and other topics). I thought that I should join the mayhem in case I am looking for knowledge in model boating matters. It appears to me that most of the world's supply of that is on here somewhere!  This tug is only my second model boat and it was originally intended just to be a means to float my (then newly-constructed) Stuart Twin Launch engine (1989).  However the tug turned into a project in its own right (as well as the boiler plant) and I became quite interested. Suitable water for sailing model boats is almost non-existent here, so I don't know what will eventually happen. Recently I purchased new radio control equipment for the boat - my goodness this stuff has improved since the old days!  I still have my original radio set from 1959 and another bought in 1982 and I am blown away by the sophistication and low prices of today's equipment. Congratulations really are due to the manufacturers and software people for using their ingenuity. I may be slow to post as a new crop of grandchildren and my tug keep me quite busy!  Best wishes and happy boating - John

Hi merseyferry thanks much for the welcome! Tonight I just successfully installed my tug's rudder motor, worm and quadrant - a big weight off my mind - so taking a well-deserved break :-)
