Water Jet Drive propulsion advice and guidance
« on: August 19, 2016, 07:59:55 pm »

Hi, may I ask if anyone can direct me to a Jet Drive club or forum link please?

I have to build a Jet Drive hull and fit components/circuits and am pretty new to the RC model boat world.

I belong to the Thames Auxiliary Marine Service, a volunteer/not for profit organisation/Unincorporated Association started by members of the Maritime Volunteer Service and as part of our duties we help and assist the emergency services in times of maritime emergency, such as flooding and swift water rescue.

We are aiming to build a remote controlled lifebuoy with jet propulsion and I am we are trying to learn as much as we can for the design and build process.

So ideally I would like to find a water jet propulsion club or online conversation to learn from. I may be using the wrong descriptions for the model boats and we are still learning the lingo.

If anyone could direct me it would be much appreciated.

We are hoping to build our hull from marine plywood and epoxy resin with a long floatation lifebuoy atop the hull, similar to the EMILY Emergency Integrated Lifesaving Lanyard.

So to chat to water jet model boat enthusiasts would be great to learn the technology and requirements.

Kind regards,

Alex Foster.

Google hobby king cnc jet drive

There are also videos on YouTube of this beastie

looks like it may be in stock @ the grand sum of nearly £400 - was listed on their site but out of stock/production for my months

I think you would need something of this magnitude to achieve what you want to do - coupling it to a brushless motor than can deliver enough ummphhh could be interesting and expensive.

mayhem user IKB has recently made significant experiments with his own jet drive - maybe he can add some suggestions to the pot
