Steam Launch "BAT"
« on: September 02, 2016, 11:02:24 am »

Hi there,
This forum is new to me and not sure were to post my question...
I'm after line drawings, photos etc. for the steam launch BAT.
Windermere unfortunately cant help me at present as they are busy getting the museum up and running.
If there is anyone out there able to help that would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Frank

Frank, have you tried `googling` for photos?   I built a Windermere launch based on their photos.   Pete

Gents,
Many tanks for your reply's, much appreciated...
Have been busy googling for photos about BAT for a while now and have found some very very nice examples of the vessel.
Keith Townsends article inspired me, the challenge is to get is as close to the original as possible.
Accurate line drawings of the hull would be a great start...
There are some good YouTube uploads as well that are very helpful.
I found an article by a chap called Milton Thrasher - he used to sell laser cut frames of BAT but unfortunately his e-mail bounces...
Cheers

Frank,
'Bat' is registered with the Steam Boat Association and some details are found here if you click on the 'B' section  http://www.steamboatassociation.org.uk/page-1117882

Thanks for the link Barry, I will follow up with the steam boat association and let you know how it went.

Pete, have you got a link please? The Hobbies sites I looked at had no reference to BAT?

Cheers

Frank, put it down to old age, what I really meant was that they have some very nice launch-type hulls.  Pete

PM me your address, and I'll put them in the post. They aren't immaculate so just make a donation to your local lifeguards or volunteer fire service depending on where you live.

Hi Jonty,
Not sure what's going on...
So far I had nothing in the mail - I will let you know as soon as I get the plans.
Have you received any of my previous posts and PM's?
Cheers
