Harbour defence motor launch pictures wanted.
« on: August 18, 2016, 10:02:29 pm »

I know, I  know............Google hdml and there's a thousand pics of hdml's, but what I need is pics of the hdml in close up, the detail etc which can be difficult to see in 'general ' views on Google.  So any pics you may have that'll help me in my research on hdml's before I plough in with the future build will be much appreciated.  All the best,  Dave

John Lambert's "Allied Coastal Forces of World War 2, Vol1" is still the go to book for HDMLs  There is plenty of detail in the drawings and a lot of individual detail drawn separately.

Thanks for that, seems like a great book looking at the reviews etc, but bloody expensive,  would be great to get hold of one a bit cheaper than the £40+ on amazon!
Cheers, Dave

What aspects/detail do you want?

Have a look at pics below - happy to take pics as per your requirements if they will help - just let me know what you want

You might find some details from the pics on these links

WOW......what a beauty, you must be rightly proud of her.
(Sorry that I  haven't replied earlier, just got back from a short break in Derbyshire )
The photos that you have already provided are great thank you,  thank you also for your time taken to take them.
I would like to be able to see the detail of the open bridge area i.e the helm, flag locker etc. Also, inside the hull to see the internal layout of the running gear. Which motor/speed control /battery combination did you use and also which hull did you use.
Thanks again and kind regards, Dave

Thanks for all the great replies, absolutely brilliant.
Thanks also for using your time to send me pics, I  couldn't have asked for better and will certainly aid me in my quest to build as good an hdml as I  can possibly manage.
Cheers all,
Dave.
