Deck Crane Kit
« on: November 26, 2016, 01:37:25 pm »

Does anyone have any idea of where to get a large, deck crane kit. I need one for my Mr Darby build and all of the usual suppliers say they don't carry them anymore. I tried Model Slipways and Harbor Models, the only two that had them listed. No longer available according to emails. Is no one making a deck crane kit?

Macs Mouldings have them in several sizes, but you can't use the search function (i couldn't) I found it in 1/24 and 1/12  scale

This model shop in Holland has the Slipway Atlas kit.  I got one from them.

Not cheap, but if you need it they have it!

Well, it appears that there are no longer any Atlas crane kits. I have the option for going for another type (Hiab Sea Crane would be the first choice if I could find one) or building one from a plan (if I could find a plan).

I see folks on here building large tugs with cranes all the time on here ... where do all the cranes come from?
