Flower Class corvette drawings required.
« on: September 27, 2016, 08:05:40 pm »

I have acquired a 1/48 GRP hull for a Flower class corvette the only problem is that I don't have any drawings that I can use to build a model with. I know that the late John Lambert produced various sets but, as far as I'm aware, they are not currently available.

That being the case could anybody point me in the direction of where a decent set could be obtained, here I don't mean the NMM. Failing that is there any one out there that has a set of the John Lambert drawings who would be will be willing to lead them to me so that they may be copied and returned?

Most of what you need should be in the Conway's Anatomy.  I've got a single sheet plan of H.M.S. Bluebell which I could send electronically for you to print out.  PM me if interested.

Many thanks for the replies.

Tom. I've had a look at the Fleetscale site and they would suit my purpose. However, as they are only for the Canadian version with the square off stern which would not matter really or HMS Bryony with the very long forecastle.

Tail. I'll contact you presently, thanks for the offer.

Bill. As you can see it's a long Forecastle.

Here are some pictures of the hull: I know not its breeding but, as you can see it is quite distorted probably caused by being pulled from the mold before it had cured properly. I think though if I could clamp it in my big workmate and pull the sides in and then fit some stout beams in position it would look reasonably ok. The reason I need the drawings is to get the correct beam at various points and deck openings for the basic structures.
