Lady Lesley aka Our Lass II
« on: October 20, 2016, 02:34:33 pm »

Shot taken with the wheelhouse roof removed, sadly the ship's dog ate the pasties just after this was taken. Another view of her out on the pond. Did modify the deck with another hatch forward of the wheelhouse to give more 'hand' room in the cavernous interior. Made it much easier to place batteries, ballast etc.

You're spot on, but I wanted to name her after 'she who must be obeyed' and use Jacoba's colour scheme, as I didn't like the red hull of Our Lass II. Even though Jacoba was an earlier type of trawler from memory and was scrapped a number of years ago I believe. Most of my models are based round Brixham craft. BM-76 is the sailing beam trawler 'Vigilance' and after making a model of her I took the next number for Lady Lesley. Also done the Torbay lifeboat, and a Fairmile MTB No. 628, built by Uphams during the war.

Far from scrap, Jacoba is
currently fishing southeast of
Brixham in company of a few other
Beamers from her home port.

That is some of the most effective weathering I
have seen. Not overdone like some you see.
With weathering, less is often more.  :-))
