steam engines spoilt for choice
« on: November 19, 2016, 10:48:50 am »

After managing to destroy my vtwin oscillating steam engine by my own silly mistake ive been looking at replacements with a small budget to run from my 3x8 boiler

Tvr1a. i like this but looks complicated ( i'm no engineer ) and also will have to fit another servo for the reverse lever. been a few on ebay lately around the £200 mark

Clyde twin oscillator, i like the look of this one  and no modifications to the boat. not seen any secondhand on ebay apart from new kits

ive looked at the chedder type etc but wanting an engine that looks like an engine. is there any others ive missed ? or what is your recommendation

cheers

Bonjour Paull,
Could you tell us which size of machine your are looking for ? A 8 cm3 TVR1A is a big steam consumer !
You could have a gance on this site : http://www.microcosm-engine.com/steam-engine-c-15.html
I have bought him a 6,78 cm3 steam plant whithout any problem : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TO16806-3pM&t=7s
Our French manufacturers JMC and Anton are unfortunately more expensive.
