Reminders me of the model shop in Lewisham (south London you know) back in the 60's, very exciting when my dad took me there (thats when I got my first areokits crash tender, and with help from my dad and ED bee, well the boat moved........but it was fun...and the smell of the diesel fuel and blisters on the fingers from the leather starting cord  O0

Yeah, remember the model shop in Gillingham bottom of Canterbury street. Used to often stop and stare longingly at the Dinky lorries, Trix model trains and the model kits inside. Could only afford the 2 bob Airfix kits and the Eagle model ships kits. %) %)

This is a model my brother-in-law from Bundaberg built in the late 60s or early 70s. The main feature of this model is its engine, a 25cc 4 stroke, petrol fuelled engine designed and built completely from scratch by said b-i-l. From memory the model was around 48 inches long. The photo was taken on a farm dam near Bundaberg, by me, in 1977.

Even older! My late father, in red, and Rob Burman discussing radios. Our Wavemaster was built on the kitchen table from a Hammersmith Models kit. They are at Barnes Pond in South London in the late 50's or early 60's.  Robs boat was own design, I think, maybe petrol engined.   Any ex Mortlake club members on here?  We were ML 59 and 60

I remember standing outside the one on Broad street (now gone), which was widened to take the A6 dual carriageway opposite Frederick street campus of Salford University towards the A580 in the mid 60's, then the one on the corner of memorial road and Westminster road in Walkden in the mid 70's, now a tanning salon, noticed how they always had a railway loop in the front window, and occasionally I look in the window of the still going one in Bolton, Nuffy's models formally Bolton model mart though I cannot remember if they still have the railway loop since changing hands, all were terrace house style shops like in the photo.

Not just a toy shop, during the First World War, Gamages produced the Leach Trench Catapult for the British Army.  This was a bomb-throwing Catapult andwas designed to throw a two-pound (0.91 Kilogramme) projectile into enemy trenches.  This is a link to showing it in action! https://www.britishpathe.com/video/trench-warfare-bombs-fired-by-catapult/query/trench

Remember being taken to Gamage's as a child, wow an experience never forgotten best ever. Remember their O gauge working model layout with lifting bridges etc, nothing has come near it since.

I'd suggest 'Plus Fours' Phil  -  but no-one would see them beneath your customary waders !  Lol.
Oh how I've missed the banter and japes from the Warwick Show -
so much so, KLMBC are looking into a trip to Dortmund to ease the pain.

I looked at every picture of a launch cart for a model boat I could find to get ideas on how best to build mine. While this one I wouldn't say contributed, it was interesting just the same.
