Tiles for use with model boats
« on: December 08, 2016, 09:29:23 am »

I have been looking for some tiles to finish of the cab floor in my new fishing boat. After trying to cut some from plastic card I could not get them all the same size I gave up. After searching the net yesterday I found this company that makes a very large amount of tiles in the following scales 1/12 1/24 1/48. These would look just the job in a steam launch or any model. I have posted a selection of the tiles from the web site. For further info please see

dollhouse-flooring.com

These attachments are only a very small range of items from its website.

If you search under architectural modeling, or similar you should find many other styles, and unpainted.
There is a company called evergreen, who make styrene tile sheets in various scales, I have seen these in the past in model railway sites, might be worth a look.

Hi Chris thanks for reply already ordered these. These tile ordered are made from formica laminate no painting. The evergreen tiles are in fact sidewalk slabs lots of masking off should you wish to do different colours. Dolls house scales are ideal for use in the model boat world you can get things you will not find in your local model shop. Picture below is  my 1/12 lobster boat which has lots of dolls house tools and other items  fitted  again something you will not find in any model shop sadly. My boat is one nearest I have no wish to influence  any body's final choice on materials used my thoughts on the subject only.

Hello,

Stan is useing products from the huge range of things from the Miniaturists world.
In 1/12 and 1/24 scales there is almost everything you could think of !.

Fitting out a House or a Boat there are many things which are the same.
Tables, Chairs, Lamps- - all the things needed to make things look "REAL".
Tools, Toolboxes, Clamps, Brackets, Shelves, Cupboards, Boxes, all are available.

My Wife and I have been doing Miniature Fairs all over the UK and Europe for 30 Years, I am still amazed at some of the things which are made by Miniaturists.

I am sure they are made by Folk who have MUCH smaller fingers than the rest of the World !!!.

Cab floor tiled very easy to fit. Cuts were a little more time consuming.
