Choosing decals/signwriting this may be of help
« on: December 14, 2016, 11:22:44 am »

Hi all, this may be of interest to someone, this company supply decals for "full size" boats, you can change the fonts, colour, size, shadows etc. It gives you a good idea of how fonts will look but obviously not suitable for scale models as the smallest size is 2" high (apologies if its been posted before), find it here.....

You can save the image to desktop then take it into Gimp/Photoshop, give it an alpha background, print on either white or clear waterslide paper and off you go !

(these are fonts which are available elsewhere so I dont think there is a problem)

Or you could try to match the font, a good place to start is here...... (there mostly free).

for my model, the boat owner has gone to his decal supplier and they are producing the gold lettering at 12mm high for me (he was getting a new decal for the transom of his boat anyway) they are not certain they can do any smaller, or even if they can do the red shadow to the font, mind you looking at the website the style is Lancer, but the shadow is the other way around (ie to the left, not the right)
