Anybody have experience of these drives ?
« on: August 16, 2007, 10:14:09 pm »

As per the title
Does anyone have any practical experience of Voith-Schneider drives ?
I will be using 2 of them on my planned La fireboat 2 build and any experiences will be very helpful considering the cost of the darn things !  :o

Hi Shane, I haved used a few, makes sailing alot more fun too, but, they can be tricky to set up and from my experience a bit of radio mods sometimes need to be done, check out Kitty on my site, the PS one. :D

Hi Shane,
Have a look at this site. Download the interactive VSP program, it will show you how it all works (witchcraft) plus lots of other stuff on this site.

VS drive on ebay.

Cheers Nige  O0  that looks and seems to work well wierd  :-\
I daresay when I get one (or 2 as the case is) I will fathom out what they actually do !

UMI ! I didnt know you were a member of this forum ! I apologise and say WELCOME  :)  You are going to be a big help to me in this build as I know you have one built already (following the rc thread ) and have it on the water.
My build will take a while unfortunatley as I have so many commitments at the moment and to top it all off my mother has been diagnosed as having a tumor in her brain (operation monday) so things are somewhat up in the air at the moment  :-\

Bear with me and a build thread will start asap  O0
