Aeronaut Queen Varnish and painting
« on: January 03, 2017, 12:37:51 pm »

Hi, am looking for some advice on Varnish and painting techniques.
I am building an Aeronaut Queen. I am looking for mahogany finish on sides above waterline. Rubbing strip and below in white
All of the hull has had a couple of coats of sealer, rubbed back and 2 coats of water based exterior varnish, just to help protect mahogany whilst in build
Can someone suggest next steps please, finish white first or varnish first.
Best ways to mask out the white from the varnish
What type of white paint should I use over the water based varnish
I assume I will seal the white paint with a couple of coats of varnish

Any guidance for a novice much appreciated
