Free rubber straps
« on: August 18, 2007, 10:39:23 am »

Hi all, I got involved in replacing my wife's ironing board cover this week. My wife had done it before and there were two previous coverings still in place. I found these rubber straps underneath used to tension the cover so they have hooks on the end. I thought they might be good for holding down planking, hatches, batteries etc. So there you are next time you are doing the ironing take a look I am sure they will not be missed. Cheers Graham. O0

I think working at Anne Summers is Colin's Saturday job.

It's not big money, only £10 a day, but it's all he can afford on his pension.

The best rubber straps/large rubber bands (and the cheapest).....scrounge an old rubber inner tyre from your local repair shop and simply cut with scissors.

With a little ingenuity you can increase/decrease the elasticity by selecting an appropriate width of band cut and you can even obtain different length bands by cutting across the inner tube at an angle.

Incidentally, we don't have "Anne Summers" shops in France but even the smallest town/larger village has a lingerie shop which makes this old chaps eyes pop out of his head! Do women actually get into these things and wear them?

I think the usual situation is that men buy them and give them to women who then take them back for a refund - well, that's what I read anyway!

And stop casting aspersions Richard.  :o

There's clearly more to you than meets the eye Colin, have you tried asking Ms Summers if she'll give you a rise ?
