Not ordering any until I hear the results!
With my shaky hands it may be a bit easier than trying to hold a soldering iron still enough to solder anything lol

There are some reviews here:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/DIY-Tools/Conductive-Wire-Glue-Paint-Soldering/B00SRIITQ4

Probably a second best solution but never hurts to have another arrow to your bow. Just like solder paint, magic for soldering up railings neatly.

Thanks for that Colin,Im still not sure but worth a try maybe!
John,
I was thinking of using it for attaching wires and resistors to leds,as they really are difficult for me,s is most things where i need a steady hand these days.
As for the stuff advertised in Colins link,in a syringe,I have some of this and was told it was silver solder,it was a craft ring maker who gave it me.She said to use a fine high power flame on it,and not to use much of the paste.I have tried this a few times, and each time it has turned into a sort of powdery grey dust, and done nothing at all in the way of soldering the item together,I was trying to make a railing at the time.Yet a soldering iron wont even melt the stuff!
As you can see I am not too good at this sort of thing.
Cheers

Mick,

I didn't mean that link for the solder paint actually, sorry.

The stuff I am using is Carrs 188 http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/533_1_1399097.html I bought some for about a tenner at Squires last year, I think they still had some in stock last week when I was in there. You just paint it on around the joint and apply an iron, it seems to have a lower melting point than wire solder and just sinks into the joint and tins the adjoining wire. Absolute doddle provided the wire is clean, I just rub it with a bit of abrasive paper. Recent work below.

(sorry to go temporarily off topic!)

Not something for a long term installation but great pondside for a quick repair or for mocking up

have you considered solder paste?when I converted my boat from dome leds to surface mount leds and surface mount leds I found this invaluable..use a toothpick pull a string out after you stir it up. cover the joint...touch a solder iron to it till it turns sliver and your done

I used mostly 1206 chips but for the deck lamps I used 5050 chips. those are nice a 3 100ma bright white led's in 1 5mmx5mm sized chip.be warned that you have to have 3 separate powers and 3 separate grounds see results below the 5050's are the 2 on top of the wheel house

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.
I have decided not to try it,but have now gone for some solder paste in a syringe,as recommended by my pal John, and  a few others of you.
I have also found a cheap source of ready wired leds, and will be using these in future, purely for convenience. They are also available with resistors pre soldered,to the voltage you require. it may be a little more expensive, but not when you ruin as many as I have with my soldering lol!
Thanks again

just depends on how much you want to spend.i found the prewired too expensive..i got 2000 leds in 10 colors for 50$us from ebay..the magnet wire I scrounged from automotive relays and scrap electronic's from  vcr 's to coffee makers. anything that goes into a wall outlet has a transformer of some sort wound with magnet/enamled wire...so I had plenty to practice with...good building :}

thank you very much..i agree..i origanly had 5mm dome leds for lighting and was not happy with it...then 1 burnt out and I hated the idea of going with the same old thing...so I researched smt surface mount leds..very easy to work with...they evan have sidemounted leds although I haven't got any yet,but they are on the list..i think they would make great sideboard lights....also the abilty to mount them almost anywhere is the bestespecialy if you use surface mount resisters with them..also I like to run wireless when I can using brass tube/contacters&brass strip
