Top class workmanship aside (I love the way you did the stern framing:O) I am impressed by the labour saving ideas such as using a Setsquare and trysquare joined with a clamp to make a height gauge.

I doff my cap in your general direction Mr Bird.

thank you all for the encouragement :-)

To answer the question about planking; it depends basically on the hull you are planking and the material you plank with - whether its best to plank longitudinal or diagonally - I did diagonally planking on this hull because I was following the instructions in the Model Boats magazine to start off with and then after a while I went my own way.   But, to prevent planks from twisting I had to use plenty of clamps over the stringers.

More pics to follow :-)   Sadly, though I seem to have lost some of the building of the superstructure and the funnels - Gone to the eternal bliss of the mysterious folders disappearing :-)

The answer the question regarding the paddles; they are made from 1mm thick brass - I purchased the brass sheet from Ebay a while ago

The planking either side of the paddle wheels look excellent. I like the angles going on.

Nice going bluebird  :-))...

Is the pump to provide simulated diesel engine intercooler overboard water discharge?....or a fire monitor supply?

Well, today, she sailed for the first time at the Lake; and she did sail quite well.   She was a bit bow heavy so will do some trimming of the ballast.  I also had problems with the actual P40 mixer not responding properly - something else to sort out.

Hi John

Congrats on getting her into the water, she looks stunning and as you say a bit of trimming and she'll look brilliant both on the water and on the stand. :-))

She looks gorgeous Bluebird. The anchor winch is a lovely piece of work. Ther is lots of model engineering happening on here at the moment and none of it fantastically complex which is good to show how it isn't always weeks of work on lathes and complicated guff like that.

Thanks for the comments mates; problem with the mixer is that one of the ESCs has a BEC built into it - and - sometimes the programme on the mixer doesn't recognise it for a bit.   :-)    soon sorts itself out.

If I want to sort the problem out properly - I will just disconnect the BEC and put a battery pack in it's place.

Problem solved :-)
