Hi Gordon I do not think he would want you to abandon sailing - because of his departure.   He has moved over to keep an eye on you and let a younger person fill his shoes beside you - as they say, gone but not forgotten.

I have many many friends who are older than me, and I lose one or two every year, but they would be horrified if I gave up our hobby because they passed away. Of course losing your best sailing mate is a hard thing to bear and no one can tell you how to grieve, just remember what you and your friend shared and remember that every time you sail, a piece of him is with you both in the water and in the models he built.

It shows the quality of this hobby and the members on Mayhem that people want to be with you in your time of loss.

Hi regiment always sad when you lose a mate and especially when you were enjoying your hobby with him but maybe carrying on sailing is a nice way to remember him.
Lets assume he might be looking down and enjoying what he sees?  You can then have a nice quiet chat with him.
Do carry on though,
best regards Roy

well first of all a big thank you for all the messages i received  from members.  i met lens wife monday and she said that len would have like me to carry on boating  so that is what i intend to do  today  in his memory.  Today i was given  an unmade graupner yacht  collie  by the owner of the cafe i help out.  His father died 6 months ago  and he had to clear the house and found the yacht gave it to me to cheer me up  so i will build it in memory off two people now.  If any body can tell me what i need to put a motor in it  thanks.
I will not say no to freebies,  help the old pension out.   Just read book all in German.
Once again,
 THANKS  GORDON

Gordon,
I cant sail with you but just find out what you need to power the yacht and I will send it too you.
You have been good to members on here in the past time to collect a little of the "Karma" you have earned.
