MUTINY - TV
« on: March 06, 2017, 10:49:21 pm »

did anyone watch the 1st episode of the channel 4 Mutiny tonight, 21.00 hours.

It was about retracing the voyage of Captain Bligh and 8 other crewmen from where they were dropped off by Fletcher Christian to their arrival in Timor in a replica of the 23' cutter

excellent and well worth watching on catch up if you missed it.

Yeah, I watched it Jim. Unfortunately, the producers are squeezing 7 days of journey / survival into a 1hr programme.

Actually, on reflection, they only have the footage taken by the lads themselves, so I guess it's not too bad.

Anyway, the next episode is tomorrow night 2100 - looking forward to it. :-)

Regards,

Ray.

Bligh gets such a bad rap.  He was a hell of a seaman. sailing 4164 miles in an open boat in 47 days, losing only one man and actually charting the Australian coast while he did it. History always portrays him as a martinet but other captains regarded him a  big softy " He prefers to scold rather than whip and whip rather than Hang!"
