It's actually a bargain - it looks pretty complete mechanically so for £3k you get all the bits + a VIN plate.

All classic cars are like Trigger's Broom anyway and even a good looking project car will need 99% of the panels replacing or lots of panel repairs so this is actually more honest - you know where you stand from the start.

A good Healey 3000 can go for around £80,000

Such bargains are readily avaialable here in Oz, at least in Queensland, they are called repairable write offs  O0  O0 by the insurance Companies who put them up for sale.

It doesn't seem like a lot of money to me.
Even if you think of it as a just a pile of spares, that kind of money would not buy you a lot of spare major components from a scrap yard. The VIN plate in itself makes the pile of spares a vehicle.
When you consider the total cost of the project, USD4k is a small part. The kind of people who undertake these projects probably have at least that much invested in tools anyway.

There's a red/black? mint 100/4 on Fleabay at the moment asking £98,000.
