Met Police now saying they're treating it as a terrorist attack , has the exact same MO as attacks in France , Belgium and Germany over the last 2 years , drive a vehicle at civilians then jump out with a knife to attack anyone within reach

1 police officer wounded by the attacker and the attacker shot by another police officer and at least a dozen maybe more wounded on Westminster Bridge

Four people dead so far...the lady who was hit on the bridge by the car, a policeman, the terrorist,  and one other.
And at least twenty people injured.

God rest their souls...

Lot of rubbish being talked on the 'meeja' about 'how could this happen in such a high security area etc, etc.?'

It appears that the assailant drove up on the pavement of the bridge mowing down pedestrians and then ran along to the Palace Yard where he surprised one of the policemen on the gate and stabbed him. He was then immediately shot dead. Pretty good security response in the circumstances.

It's impossible to anticipate the situation where someone simply drives into a crowd of pedestrians with no warning. You can't ban all traffic from central London. We were warned that something like this could happen and so it has.

From the accounts so far it could just have been a 'freelance' nutter. All he needed was a car and a kitchen knife. How do you stop that?

Colin,
I agree with every word you said. When are we going to get properly tough on these horrific creatures and stop the damned media from stirring up trouble?

Couldn't agree more, boys...but, he is a statistic and therefore needs to be counted.

At least we won't have to put up with the incessant cries of "human rights breached " if he had have survived and been on the receiving end of a well deserved slap from someone.

Our thoughts and prayers go to all who were affected especially the police who had to shoot the attacker.

And for the survival of the poor woman who appears to have been catapulted into the river by the car - horrendous.

the whole episode must have been so awful for so many. not only those personally involved but those at home watching the whole drama unfold and not knowing whether their loved ones known to be in the area were involved.

my prayers and good hopes and wishes  go out to them all.

I think they also need to review the BBC footage and prosecute the mindless morons standing in the road to get their pictures and obstructing the emergency services. <*< :police:

I think the police, judiciary and special services have far more serious matters on their mind at the moment, and for the foreseeable future than rounding up a dozen or so gongoozlers for taking photos of an horrific incident >>:-(

Far more important things indeed.....like foiling the next attack on innocent people.
