Tamiya Color spray can problem
« on: April 16, 2017, 03:00:05 pm »

Hi, Beginners question.

I have recently used a Tamia Color pray can for the first time to paint a glass fibre hull (TS-53 Deep Metallic Blue).

The spraying  went fine and produced a good finish BUT I have found that if you touch the painted surface with cyano or epoxy glue the paint melts. Even after a couple of months going back to add any finishing fittings is impossible.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal with this product or will all paint/varnish react to cyano this way.

Many thanks

Yes.  There will be a reaction due to the chemical content in the cyano.  You can do it the other way around and paint cyano after it has cured.

Hope this helps
