Bristol channel pilot cutter Hilda

<< < (2/2)

hammer:
I have had 2 pilot cutters both have sailed really well with internal ballast only. Rudders over scale but no extensions. Sail in all weathers by reducing sail no problems.
I only have photos of Spray sailing as I have to rely on other people to take pictures.
Hilda packed up to go in car. I tape fore sails to shrouds including lines, gaffs to boom lines to mast.  So nothing gets tangled, a pin in the bottom of mast goes in a hole pushes forward & hatch holds it in place.

WeymouthJohn:
Lovely!

roycv:
Very nice,
Roy

hammer:
Thinking of selling as opposed to sailing Hilda. The problem is my club lost its lake, the new one is to small for a large sailing boat. The only option I have at present is the river. Has to be slack high water, very restricted opportunities.   That is the reason I have built Irene, smaller & has a motor.
