HELP!!! Looking for Transfers
« on: May 31, 2017, 11:28:08 pm »

If this is something that has cropped up on the forum before I do apologies but
this is the first time I've posted.

I'm looking to strip my "Star" Yacht down, which includes putting on new sails -
Re-rigging & sanding down the deck, to either paint or varnish - either way it
seems very likely that I might cause damage to the "Star" Yacht transfer that
sits nicely towards the Aft on deck.

Is there anyone out there that can point me in the direction of someone that
supply these please.

Regards to all,
Tony.

Welcome Tony.....if you cannot get a new transfer, as an alternate you could consider...

Box in the transfer with PVC tape......spray or paint over the surface of the boxed in transfer with a clear polyurethane......after this has cured, tape over the transfer....

Complete all of your hull work......the PVC tape should/will lift off the transfer leaving it intact

NB....there will be a little trial & error here, as the original surface of the transfer may need a very light rub down with 1200 W&D prior to the application of the polyurethane

Hi Tony,

Welcome to the Mayhem!

First of all have you got some very good photos of the Transfers as is?
The higher quality (high resolution) you can get now will help recreating it later if needs be.
