Right, apologies first for the lack of posts on this model, a lot has happened since the last up date which include a fourth forward superstructure rebuild as I was not happy when I painted it so it got scrapped!
I replaced the secondary armament casement turrets with 16mm diameter acrylic tube which turned out to be more accurate than the plastic tube I was using before- didn’t help that they were wrong diameter too!
My upper casemate gun houses were also wrong being 5mm to far aft which threw the measurements out of the window too.
Funnels have been detailed with rigging points and steam pipes, and I admit now that before they were not 100% upright either! That’s all corrected, and the main mast was paint stripped so the aft searchlight platform could be fitted properly.
The capston equipment, anchor chain and bits have been made and attached to the foredeck and finally the stanchions have been added using the 11mm high 3 ball brass items from RB Fittings dressed with Albion Alloys 0.2mm Nickel-Silver rod, I tried using Geoff’s method but I couldn’t get right so more practice on another model will have to happen so I can finish Invincible.
Pictures to come soon once the work bench is tidy and everything it firmly attached in place. For those wishing to see Invincible in the flesh (so to say) she will be at the Wicksteed stand at the International Model Boat Show at Warwick very soon.
