Spektrum gone mad
« on: June 19, 2017, 09:44:02 pm »

I bought my DX6 brand new in January for sub £130 from SMC including receiver. Within a couple of weeks the price shot up to £165 ish and now it seems they've hit £200 plus. I think there have been distributor importer issues? still its simply profiteering  >>:-(

Not since January it has remained fairly constant
The pound dived after Brexit last June long before

DX6 which is overkill but the price was good then
I get 6 channel receivers for £20 as they're  cheaper than 4 channel here

Futaba have a new 2.4 basic transmitter and receiver for the £80-00 mark.
No computerised set up, linear trims.
Thinking of ditching my spektrums for this.
Receivers a bit pricey but you can't have everything.

I just bought a faulty DX6 off eBay £60, I thought it would be good value for spares.
First thing I did was take it apart but nothing visual. Next I googled for Spektrum system faults and found a very nice post on resetting  :}
 :-))  Result fixed!!
It was the first firmware version 1 and I've successfully updated it to the latest just out this month version 1:20 8)

Screen protection has never been removed so it is like brand new

I just bought these boys
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Spektrum-DX6i-Transmitters-and-Spektrum-Hard-case/282583855730?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

The case identifies them as DSM2   BUT  the settings show them as DSM2 DSMX auto select so I have the best of both worlds and no air updates etc.

Initially one of them was not working correctly in that both sticks were cross talking. A system reset again came to the rescue  :-)) .
Now obsolete but good as new with no scratches

Spec on Spektrum dot com only mentions DSM DSM2
