We were talking about these at the last sub day in Brum. The red one is the only one in the colour and belongs to rob fowler. I think a run of 100 might have been mentioned.

They are called AquaBat, made by R&R Model Engineering, way way back. I don't thing Ron has made one for years now, Rob Fowler has one, and Ron has one, both in full operating condition.

Well spoke to Jotika, yes they have the moulds but no plans to put them back in production, one of the reasons being that they do not make , or that they are hard to get hold off transmitters suitable, Ie 40meg  etc,  %% %%

Oh well it was worth a shot.

Hi TheLongBuild

Have a look on the following site http://www.theassociationofmodelsubmariners.com/ look under Radio Control Equipment  Open LRS, it may be of some help to you if you do not want to use 40Mhz.

i think jotika is using the 40mhz as a crutch...  they would probably only sell 3 a year, even if 40mhz was widely available.  it looks like the model submarine community is drying up as people pass on...  90% of the model sub community seems to be in their late 60's or early 70's, and nobody seems to be interested in recruiting new blood....  the entire makeup of the community seems to now be "i need a rtr system that weighs less than 5 pounds, and fits in the back seat of my tiny car."

Two years ago we had no submarines
in our club, but now, mainly due to Pete
Subman bringing underwater thingies
we have 5 or 6 with most operators under
60 so it looks like we are bucking the trend.

R c submarines are quite specialised , they can be expensive and the young folk I've spoken to mainly to say go away , are completely unaware of this type of pastime , the first question is how much did it cost , second one is where can I get one , since the demise of robbe  things have changed  every thing has be almost ready to ?
