Try switching on and you should have a message on the screen if you have a screen.
If you don't have a screen you should have a 'Clean print head button Press that.
The Epson is looking for Epson ink
So you have to fool it Gordon.
Tickets arrived today mate
Thanks a lot  :-))
Hope the above helps.

Morning Gordon.....I understand Mr Epson is now adding a second micro miniature electronic chip to his original printer cartridges

The second chip tells the computer when a certain number of print pages have been completed and warns that ink is low <*<....[irrespective of the actual ink per page used]

The first chip is the activation chip....[generic cartridges do not have these installed]....so a generic cartridge will not activate >>:-(

Don't you just love Printer manufacturers  :-X

Derek

PS.....the only thing I  about Mr Epson is his V220 scanner........absolutely reliable & no consumables needed still after 7 years................

I have a Samsung SCX 3200 laser copier/printer, not colour just prints black.

Good enough for what i need.

Genuine replacement black toner from Samsung around £50- 60, not going there  >>:-(

My son ordered a 'generic' 1 online - cost about £12 i think  O0

Works just fine - no trouble.

If i were you i'd beg borrow or steal something similar...anyone going to offer Gordon a replacement for the Epsom for nowt? !

He could have mine if wake up feeling flushed one morning...unlikely i know  :embarrassed:

I had to buy a completely new Printer and scanner, because my perfectly good and better than the one I have now,Epson was not compatable with the dreaded Windows 10. Another Epson scam to get you to spend more money Just because they wont supply the drivers for it

Not much use to you but my very old Epson photo 2400 works perfectly. Just googled for driver - no problem
