After doing a silly thing that resulted in me destroying two viper speed controllers I decided to use some electronize speed controllers. These pictures show the final power layout a voltage reducer is fitted to power the radio set at 5,5 volts. Other pictures  show the motors and Huco motor couplings and finally the rudder connections.

Neat electrical installation work as always - I hope to be able to do likewise in future models.

Those are capacitors Dennis , they remove any rf interference they kick out and prevent a lot of problems with the RC gear ( or at least used to on 27Mhz and 40Mhz not used the current rc gear so can't say if this helps or isn't needed now )

Just done little today so hot in the garage even with the door and windows open. Just a few pictures showing the brass etch rails used to move aircraft. Fitting these certainly raises the blood pressure and a few choice words also.

Lots of masking there Stan but it looks a bit easier than my Elco  ;) . I nearly used a whole reel of masking tape before I got it looking anywhere near right - still not perfect but its going to have to do.
Looking forward to following the rest of this build.  :-))

Hi - I've just dragged my Yamato out of the garage - lots of parts have come loose after many years - mostly styrene things glued to the ABS parts.   What glue are you using and is it holding firm?

The hull bottom has now had two coats of varnish. When this is dry I will mask of the bottom area and spray the top half and any deck fittings. Once this all completed I should be able to fit the wood decks.
Plastic all the internal works have been glued using Stabalit Express. The brass etch and plastic parts  I have used Loctite super glue.

Cheers Stan - I'm ok with the internal stuff, it's the exterior details that coming loose.  It's difficult to identify the individual plastics as they all look similar but some bits are ABS and others are styrene - so it's trial and error seeing if they fall apart after gluing.

Yes the plastics used in model leave a lot to be desired. Just a few pictures from today showing the lower now varnished  and the aft deck note the brass etch platforms for the AA guns. Finally the centre deck section all the raised parts are now painted before the wood deck is fitted.

Hi Stan - you asked for a pic of mine - it's a much older version of the kit - it's a damaged model from ebay (£21) where all the details are broken off - the rear crane, radio mast etc. -  it's almost all there (in little pieces), it just needs a bit of tlc to resurrect it. Notice mine only has 2 small turrets on either side of the citadel.
