Chris
It is an old Nichimo? kit from long ago, the basic kit was what you would expect, crappy motor rubber tube as couplings, so knowing that you can see what Stan has done to it, truly amazing

Stan - I have a couple of questions - mine is a fixer-upper and it needs new propellers - the original shafts are 2.3mm hard steel slid inside 4mm O/D brass tubes - and the moulded props look like they are just glued on - is yours the same?     My props are all broken so what's your thoughts?    Buy new M2 props & drill them out to 2.3 smooth?    Rip out all the shafts and replace with new M2 shafts - but they would be 5.7mm diameter and I'm not sure there's enough meat to drill the shaft bearers out to that diameter?   Any thoughts?

Hi Plastic sorry for the late reply. The shafts in my model are from prop shop the kit shafts were never fitted. I suspect the kit props were screwed on to the shafts.

Hi  I have managed to do a little more today. Masked off the lower part of the hull and the internal electronics and motor bay then applied 3 coats of grey to the upper part of the hull. Also painted some smaller parts more pictures to follow when masking is removed.

This morning I had to cut the forward section of the timber deck  this will allow the centre section to be removed to gain access to the RC gear. Just a few picture showing how I did this and how the two parts marry up.

Have a message from Stan

His telephone line has gone down inevitably meaning no internet connection. He's still beavering away on the model and has more photo's but can't post them up of course. Needless to say he's not best pleased with BT but is hoping things will be sorted by Monday.
