How does a steerable outdrive connect to the propshaft?

Which type do you mean? Kyosho use a dog and bone, some use a small flex and others use a yoke arrangement.

External Universal Joints.
Exrwetal as in outboard of the transom.
The solid propshaft just protrudes from the transom.
