Very sad news. My condolences to his family. I only met John once, but we chatted a few times. He’ll be missed.

Very sad news indeed. My condolences to the family.

I conversed with John about our Jaguar cars and he was very friendly, not only to me but all the members.  He will be remembered by the forum for a long time.

Sincere regards,

ken

I'm sad to hear the news. I spent an interesting afternoon visiting with him a few years ago, such a very nice guy I thought. RIP JB

Hi all

Thank you for all of your kind words, really means a lot. Not been on here for a little while so please accept my apologies for the late response but I really appreciate everything you have all said. It's very quiet without him and his crazy humour!

Anyway, I could do with a bit of guidance, I took my Dad to buy a ship back in August, it' called Solebay. It's a fully working ship. My dad told my mum to sell it if he did not make it through the op, is there a particular place on here I can put it up for sale or anyone know of anywhere else to advertise?

Cheers guys

Further down the page Ian, there is a section for buying/selling items, you could place it in there. But considering the situation, I'm sure the admins would be happy for you to place it in here and they could move it into the right area for you.

On a sadder note, I hope you and your family are bearing up, I know it to be a great strain to get through these times, I can't say it gets easier as time passes, it really doesn't.

Martin the site owner will
probably let you sell it on here
as your late Dad would be entitled.
You know what was paid for it and
If you could post a photo of it with
the asking price, I'm sure it will be
sorted for you.

My  condolences to all the family

It always hit hard when a family member or a contributor to a community as this forum checks out  <:( It hits everybody that no one is immortal.

My younger brother (47 years) has just gone though a double bypass yesterday and the whole family is just sitting there waiting for the result (as for now it is good news but who knows.)

Just enjoy today as no one knows what tomorrow brings

John was a very popular and valued member of this forum, and the wider model boat community. He will be greatly missed.
Many people have taken the opportunity to express their sadness and condolences to the family on here, and now is perhaps the time to draw this thread to a close.

Thank you,
 Martin
