It's that time of year again...
« on: November 12, 2017, 01:13:02 pm »

Yep swimbo's half of the craft room has been vacant all year, now its a flurry of activity - all 'my stuff' has been carelessly moved off 'her' table. Then this morning I hear the, ' whats hers is hers and whats mine is also hers' sentence.

It came out as ' how can I stick these glitter stars to this material' superglue I answer. 'Right where's our superglue?'  %) %) <*< <*< Reasoning that it was my superglue bought for my models fell on deaf ears. I showed her how to apply it with the tip of a cocktail stick and place the stars with tweezers so she didn't get it on her fingers and left her to it.

Fifteen minutes later and much profanity from the craft room and she comes into the lounge and professes she gives up, she doesn't know how I can stand doing all that 'fiddly stuff' on my models. :}

Hey Ho, xmas come, xmas go :-))

Ha! I though you were going to say that the profanity was followed by SWMBO emerging with fingers glued together.  ;)

Married 54 years, she won't let me have a model boat on show!  They are relegated to a spare room.  There are a goodly few.
I found with model boats that as the years went by so did my taste in model boats.  I first of all had small but fast little boats I could tuck under the arm, then sailing yachts with nice big sails, I had an award for one of these. These were later built with a small electric motor iwhich gave the comfort of a quick end to a sailing session.
Then another couple of fast boats, one with guns on and not entirely of my own construction, I have lately admired the slower moving cargo boats of yesteryear that have a certain grace as they pass by.
Now I concentrate on a bit of restoration in uncovering a little beauty that has faded over the years and bringing her back to her youth again. (article for Model Boats mag in the pipeline)
Who knows what is next?
I have all the tools in the workshop accumulated over the years many have fond memories, I like to think I can float a boat at little expense but with elegant taste and style.
regards Roy
