Time to fight back
« on: November 14, 2017, 09:00:27 pm »

Colwyn Bay MBC's new lake became heavily infested with weeds during the hot summer spell and so we had to moved temporarily back to our old lake.

We already use Dyofix and our earlier attempts at manually dragging the weeds out was back breaking.

So, with £3,000's worth of Grants and donations we decided to fight back and buy commercial weed cutting equipment.

Now we attach the electric weed shears to the front of a dinghy, add an electric outboard motor and enjoy a quiet sail back and forth across the lake and let the gear deal with the weeds.........  https://www.facebook.com/colwynbaymodelboatclub/videos/1932905583592849/

Cut weed floats to the surface and within a few days the wind has collected it all in a corner and we just dump it into FIBC bags which the council take to recycling.

P.s having already registered, I pressed the new green icon, uploaded a photo and it has not appeared.
