Painting of fire boat figures
« on: November 24, 2017, 05:53:19 pm »

Hi all, I'm going to be painting some figures for my Weser fire boat in the near future. Looking around the sites and on line there are many different colour patterns of there tunics and trousers. Any one have any ideas of colours ( part numbers ) colour schemes please. Thank you

A very nice lifeboat crewman and modeller at Blackpool show told me the best painting method is watercolour paints. You can just wash it off and start again or repaint more coats until it looks right. He said you spray over it with Mr sheen for the finished product.

Glad you asked BTW as I'm keen for any help too  :-))

On google images there's a good picture of the crew from a new SAR (looks like DK35 ... Ernst Meier-Hege... I think !)
t shows a typical uniform layout from which you could probably "guesstimate" actual colours.
As there's so little info who's going to argue about accuracy?
