Yes thanks, by any chance is this from the anatomy of the ship HMCS Agassi? If so I should have checked as I have a copy but didn’t think it covered the minesweeping versions!

The latter one is. The first was from the Ensign book.

Thanks Jonty for sorting out my problem. I can stick the pieces together using the the drawings. The pictures of Pennywort didn’t go into the stern section far enough to see the detail around the winch and racks.
Cheers for the help :-))

Quick question:

Does any have a clue what these bits are for?
They are part of the LL Magnetic & Acoustic minesweeping equipment but I don’t know where they would fit.

Glad you are pleased with the 3D printed parts.

Sorry for not providing instructions, but Shapeways limit the up loads to small pictures.

The larger platform goes close aft of the cable drum. The smaller one goes at the stern.

The part to the lower left of the photo is 2 cable guides. The hooked cable guide fits on the bow. The other cable guide fits on the centre of the stern bulwark. The krank arm fits into the hole on the starboard upright of the cable drum by the ratchet and pawl and is supported by the part in the lower right of your picture.

I'll do some CAD screen shots of the parts assembled in a day or 2.

Many thanks Niall

I was trying to decipher the pieces, should have spoken to you first- didn't know that you were a member!
They are stunning pieces and I'm glad you've produced them. When I first thought of doing Pennywort I didn't think how delicate the depth charge racks were going to be. You've made me very happy! :-))

The Shipcraft Special on the Flower class also has some info on magnetic/acoustic versions including a drawing of Buttercup

For those looking to do a electric/acoustic minesweeping version, Revell have now put more details of the forthcoming HMS Buttercup kit on their website and especially the instructions:  https://www.revell.de/fileadmin/import/images/bau/05158_%23BAU_BUTTERCUP.PDF

From a quick comparison with the original Snowberry sprues, it looks like sprue G is placed by K, sprue J by L and the single clear part for the radar lantern is replaced by 3 pieces.  Most of the changes seem to be on the aft deckhouse section plus the acoustic hammer and the cable drum of course.

It looks like the door access issue Derek pointed out is still there!

Just had a quick look through the Bluebell instructions and the LL drum's supports are completely wrong. They should be triangular plates not legs and there is no winding mechanism.

Martin, I accept!
As you raised the thread, Martin, You get K166 HMS Snowberry. Next will be Klunk who gets, if he chooses to accept, USS Saucy (the other kit option.)

The aim will be to achieve a running, finished model by next year's show at Warwick where, hopefully, we will attempt to sail as many 1/144th scale Flower Class corvettes as possible.
Now there will be a limit on the amount of modification of the basic kit. Handrails and basic photo- etch upgrades. No huge amounts of re-building using photo-etch.
Kit must be painted but weathering isn't mandatory.

Either the winch is to far foward or the superstructure was shortened (might be worth checking where the end of the superstructure is to the water run offs / rectangular plates along the inner hull sides) i.e. 4 steel plate in with double porthole on first pic of post 122

Aft superstructure was shortened on Canadian built ships. About 1/4 inch on the model. I'll post the plan on when I get home tonight.

It's feasible, I suppose, that the same chop could have been made but..............

Sorry, I meant “ Did anyone in this Group Build of the 1/144 Revell kit finish one?”.  (I wasn’t asking about Revell Flower class kits in general.)

After six pages of posts, the thread  just stopped in January 2019.....  ??

Also, that link you shared is for the Revell 1/72 scale kit, not the 1/144 kit which was the subject of this thread.... ( But it is a good link for those interested in the larger kit.)
