In addition to the Regular Feature of the Pollux Football display / Challenge provided by the Ribble MBC  This year we are introducing another Water sport, Bumper Boat Football, This is not quite the rough and tumble as Pollux football  but a more leisurely although equally as hard to score a goal.

The Boats are readily available from Lowes Models and from Model Boat Bits, who I believe now have a nearly ready to run version just requiring a Battery, Transmitter and receiver..

Runcorn & District will be putting on a display each day, so if you have one then join in the fun, else we are hoping that there will be 3 to use in addition to Runcorn's Boats.

Any body coming down the M6 at the weekend for the show, we have just driven northward and the queue sothbound between junction 15 nd 14 is about 3or 4 mile long.

I believe that there also problems on the A580, East Lancs Road, around the St. Helens area.

Hi Brian

One of the supporting structures has been demolished and the bridge has temporary supports under it ,so I think it will be a long time before the M6 is back to normal.

Assuming you are coming down from Scotland you get of the Motorway well before J15 so should not be a problem.

Re the A580 East Lancs I had the misfortune to have a meeting in St Helens last week and my route was along the Rainford by pass, when I was approaching the East Lancs St Helens junction there was a long tailback from the traffic lights on the Lancs (you could not see the front of the queue) it took approx. 27 minutes to get through the 3 way temporary lights. To top it all I missed my turn off as I could not see the road name due to the amount of lorries going in the opposite direction so I had to drive on another mile to turn around then do it all again up to the turn off I needed. Speaking to locals at my meeting this junction is an absolute nightmare during rush hour so if you can avoid it do so.Hope this helps.
       Regards, Pete.

There should be no rush hour on Saturday and Sunday so maybe the congestion won't be that bad.
The A580/St Helens junction is nowhere near the A580 / M6 junction for Haydock. It should only be the people coming from the Liverpool direction that would be affected.
