How is it back home?!
« on: December 10, 2017, 03:39:52 pm »

Well I’m relatively warm and dry at the moment in Aki but I’ve seen some pretty horrific pictures of some wet crystalline water that I must I have just missed launching out of Brize Norton. I’ve been told there is a lot of snow back home - is this true?!!!!! :}

Some snow but I think the Germans will be laughing their socks off again.

Despite the forecast we had no gritting. Even the main roads were difficult.

Wow!! Would never have guessed! I’ve had to help fill sandbags for the great flood which happens at Aki every year! Ironically the sand used was imported from the UK so we’ve been told! %%

Nick  is in Akrotiri in Cyprus. The name translates as windy point (so I'm told - been there in 75) which is why the locals let us have it  {-)

 As with everything military it is shortened to either an ‘ie’ or ‘o’ on the end! %%

Crewkerne is damp and windy (I blame the sprouts  {:-{ ) we have light localised flooding in rural areas making the journey to and from work a little more exciting but nowt biblical.

We might get some solid water.

Nothing much round our epicentre except a lot of surface water due to the council not having cleared the road gullies after the Autumn fall , should be interesting in the morning as the forecast is for a big freeze up over night. If it snows on top of that lot Yikes, still give me a chance to see how the 4WD copes , live at the bottom of a hill so usually getting home is not a problem providing I have been able to get out in the first place.
