What ship?
« on: December 15, 2017, 09:02:34 am »

Hi folks. I had this sent to me today asking if I can find out any information such as what it is, type of ship, kit or scratch built etc (looks scratch to me). So, any thoughts would be most appreciated.
Cheers,
Ian.

It's a British Coaster although the superstructure is a bit modern looking.
If the length of the model is around 45-50 inches the scale is 1/24th.  If it's around 30 - 36 inches the scale 1/48th scale.  Caldercraft and Mountfleet do models with similar hull shapes but slightly different superstructures.

Looks like SS Kyle Rhea aka Tod Head. There is a P N Thomas plan  mm1161 available by Model Boats at 1/48 scale giving a hull length of 33.5 in. Models by design do a hull at 1/32 giving a hull length of 51 in.
