Swan Steam Launch - aboard QM2
« on: December 21, 2017, 06:58:11 pm »

I have not worked on the "Marcher" build & subsequently not posted progress as my wife & I have been on a cruise to the Caribbean via New York on the splendid Queen Mary 2. Whilst on board I came across this fine model steam launch named "Swan". it's in a glass case away from the main thoroughfares. I thought others would be interested so took some photos. I can't find anything about the model other than the information that's on the brass plate, other may may know more. The engine is a Stuart V10. I expect to return to the "Marcher" build in the new Year.

More Photos….
One further point; you can just make out a gas burner at the front of the boiler.

Certainly a complex array of tubes & varying fitting types......thanks for posting Ian

I wonder if the builder had a background in model steam locomotive type engines?

The brass plaque from Alstrom Chantilers being Chantilers de Alantique or being the builders of RMS Queen Mary 2................

Merry Christmas John......[this week again from Adelaide]

From the images, the steering wheel bevel gear set appears to be approx. 1:1.5......and the lower steering lower quadrant which appear to be connected to a R/C clevis connection, also appears to be say 120 degrees swept  %)

So this would suggest that the rudder servo would also spin the wheel in proportion?
