Arduino programming
« on: December 31, 2017, 09:50:25 pm »

Hi All
I've not really looked into this side of things, And I'm trying to keep up with technology while I can (although I do have a 10 year old to fall back on )
Just a couple of questions if someone can kindly provided answers
Can the programming side of things be carried out using a table or chrome book ?
What's the best way to start , (learning to program 1st or building small a circuit and then program )

thanks
spud

Hi Spud,

Not sure about the Chromebook - is your tablet Android based?

You could checkout the main Arduino website and see if it comes up with an option to download the Arduino IDE (the piece of software you use to write programs)

https://www.arduino.cc/

I am looking forward to installing my first model boat Arduino system in the New Year, with appreciated assistance from Mayhem friends.  I have viewed quite a few demos, and looked through coding examples, and am already a convert.

Hoping that 2018 might be the Year of the Arduino in model boating.  O0

for those that want to try it...  arduino now has a web based IDE... haven't tried it myself, but it might be a better fit for chromebooks and tablets:

My first arduino controlled boat took off at high speed, mounted the concrete side, and ended up embedded in the grass bank.

Learnt arduino the hard way....
