Neat and straight. It looks just like the real thing Dave. Like with Brian B and other people's scratch building, it is  a shame to paint over tidy work.

Once again Thanks for your feed back Ian it is much appreciated.

Painting ! That's funny you should say that.

This build, I started to use Tamiya paints. {:-{  But I've found that there is a difference in there TS range and XF, the TS is more a satin, but the XF is Matt.

There is also a colour shade difference as well.

it also seems that this vendors paints are a special order, as the first order for Hull and deck colours took over four weeks to come in. The second order, I've been awaiting for more hull grey, is now over four weeks.

I should have used Revel paints.

I have used Revell's enamel Wine red (I think that's the name!) for painting below the waterline on two models now and am very pleased at its coverage and finish. It suits a coarser brush well and I would recommend this colour.

I haven't used Tamiya paints for ages. The last job was to paint a river on wargames terrain using a Dark blue and a Grey. While fresh they are good paints, but I find they separate after a year or two of storage.

Looking at a paint chart on line suggests that as one range is classic paint in a pot while the other is aerosol then it may be to do with the formulation for spraying. Cleverer folks than me would know if aerosol paint needs special thinners or even further reformulation to work from aerosol cans?

Re feedback, These projects are like watching telly for me. I do not have one and so entertain myself reading on this and one or two other forums.

I used Tamiya this time as they did the specific paint for this class of warship, I'll have to live with this choice , as I've painted so much.

I'll in the future be using Revel paints, as like you have found it does give good coverage, it spray well when using an air brush and its stable.

I hope to keep you entertain for a bit longer with this build.

It's first class. If the reality TV was as interesting I would consider getting a TV!

Does the component box contain two ESCs and a mixer? The switches suggest duality in your system somewhere. That Funnel/superstructure assembly just gets better!

I listened to it on 5 Live and wished I had put a tenner on the England to win as I would have been 400 up on the deal!

Hi Ian,

The control box as you said , does have two ESC . It also has the 8 channel receiver, this allows me to use the control box in different models with out having to un-plug all the ESC and R/C units.

I still need to cut vents in the box and add the cooling fan.

I wish I was lucky in betting, unfortunately I never have been. 400 would buy a lot of modelling supplies.

I tried that for my first two models but dimensions and some magic grey smoke prevented me from doing this.

For larger models I can see this as a good idea.

Moved back to working on the bridge structure. Not to happy with the vented box , I'll see what it looks like once it's painted.

Things can look wonkier as an image than in real life. Sometimes the clearest images are too sharp for preview thumbnails etc, so don't knock your work too soon.

Thanks Ian, I always have issue with making louvre,s, I just can't seem to get them spaced correctly. I've use serval methods / jigs to get good alignment / spacing. But specially at this scale just does not come good for me.

Made the master for the Capstern, deck hatch and the bases for the boat Davits this morning. This afternoon RTV mould was ready so the masters were pulled and I've started cast fitting off

Must say thanks for your comments again :-)) . It seem your the only one making comments even though this thread has over 4000 views.

I try and comment when the builder has done a lump of work rather than complimenting them on banging a nail in, as a sub assembly or impressive section of railings is something to enthuse about. It is often a major undertaking for the builder using up loads of their enthusiasm especially if it had to be re done several times to get right.
