1/12 TID wheel ?

(1/2) > >>

tizdaz:
Hi guys,

Don't suppose anyone knows where i may be able to find a wheel for 1/12 TID, needs to be around 5-6cm in diameter?

Just a simple design, something like this is what I'd like:

I was thinking of making my own just using some thin brass pole for the spokes but not quite sure what to use for the inner & outer circle & the handles on the end of the spokes?

Thanks guys ^^

If I'm remembering some old photos correctly, the wheel was a simple iron ring, with spokes passing through it to a crude hub. Not a posh wheel, but a simple thing to make.

SailorGreg:
Try browsing in the plumbing section of your local hardware shop. There might be some plastic pipe or fittings you can slice up to make the wheel rim. Slightly different diameters could give you the subtle steps of the different parts of the rim.

You could do with having a look at the thread "George's TID tug" which is one of the nicest TID models I've seen.

Some of the picture don't show up but if you click on the link they do open.

I wonder if a Mounfleet Highlander puffer wheel would do the job...
